Team Devon Notice Board

Last summer, new Team Devon volunteer Nick, decided to cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats on his electric bike. He wanted to do it for charity and one of his good friends is one of the founding members of UA Team Devon. So having heard in detail about Team Devon’s work supporting Ukraine, Nick set up a Just Giving page and started planning his fundraising. Nick completed the cycle in three stages and inbetween stages he wrote to all his friends and contacts with an appeal for support; directing them to his Just Giving page. The money started flowing and Nick completed the mission to a fanfare of congratulations … but Nick hadn't finished his fundraising plan. A few weeks later he celebrated his 70th birthday and invited his friends to a party in Dartmouth. He asked guests not to bring him presents, but to donate money instead to UA team Devon via his Just Giving page. Moreover, if anybody replied that they were unable to attend, he asked them to make a donation to his Just Giving page anyway. Even then Nick wasn't finished. Midway through the lively party, after Nick had thanked all his guests for attending and supporting him, he handed the microphone to his Team Devon friend, who thanked everybody for their support, congratulated Nick on his amazing achievement and made an appeal to anybody who might like to join Team Devon as a volunteer driver. In total Nick raised a very substantial five figure sum which has broken all records.
Now that's the way to do fundraising!
An inspirational fundraising effort that broke all records.
